Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has unveiled its first downloadable content character, Phoenix Cyclops, along with its opening movie during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. The character is slated for release in fall 2026.

Phoenix Cyclops, voiced by Ray Chase, draws inspiration from the Phoenix Five iteration of the character from the Avengers vs. X-Men comic series and will wield the power of the Phoenix Force. Chase also voices Cyclops in the Disney+ series X-Men '97 and the hero shooter Marvel Rivals. This marks the first of four DLC characters and one new stage planned for the game's first year.

The game's opening movie, created by Japanese animation studio Sanzigen under the direction of Daisuke Suzuki, was inspired by classic fighting games and early 2000s anime openings. The song featured in the opening, titled "Stronger as One," will be available on streaming platforms starting at 9 p.m. PST today.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is scheduled to launch on PC and PlayStation 5 on August 6.
