A substantial leak originating from Steam has brought to light hundreds of achievements for a wide array of games currently in development, notably including major titles such as Persona 6 and Kingdom Hearts 4. The achievement data was made public on Exophase, a website that aggregates achievements across platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store.

According to the owner of Exophase, Mike Bendel (also known as x3sphere), the issue appears to stem from a potential error on Valve's part, which made achievements for games that should remain private accessible via the Steam API. Bendel noted that it is unusual to see achievements for games without official titles appear, but many such entries were discovered, with Exophase defaulting to using the game's AppID as a placeholder name.

While many of the leaked achievement lists are reportedly incomplete and contain placeholder text, they offer significant spoilers for the games in question. Specific details have emerged regarding Disney-themed worlds planned for Kingdom Hearts 4 and story elements for Persona 6. Players concerned about spoilers are advised to exercise caution and consider muting relevant keywords on social media platforms.

This incident marks another instance of Steam being implicated in data leaks. Last month, a separate security breach resulted in the exposure of 13 terabytes of data related to unreleased games and prototypes. This earlier leak contained information on games uploaded to Steam between 2003 and 2013, including early builds of titles like Spore, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and an early prototype of Portal 2.
