Mattel is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the original Xbox by releasing a 3,509-piece, 1:1 scale replica of the console through its premium Mattel Brick Shop brand. This detailed set also features a buildable 1:1 scale Duke controller, complete with interactive elements.
The replica is designed to evoke nostalgia, incorporating lights, sounds, and scenes from three iconic early Xbox titles: Halo: Combat Evolved, Psychonauts, and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Builders can activate these features by pressing buttons on the controller, which will trigger illuminated lighting effects and play corresponding in-game soundtracks. A secret button combination on the controller is said to activate a unique lighting sequence.
In addition to the console and controller, the set includes 12 NanoWorld figures. Eight figures are based on Halo, while Psychonauts and Morrowind each have two figures.
The Mattel Brick Shop Xbox set is available for preorder at select retailers, including Amazon and Best Buy, with a price point of $329.99. While Mattel has not announced an official release date, Amazon lists a ship date of October 1.
