Marvel Studios has unveiled the cast for its highly anticipated MCU X-Men reboot during this year's D23 presentation. The announcement confirms several long-standing rumors and introduces a new ensemble of actors to take on the iconic mutant roles.
Sadie Sink will reprise her role as Jean Grey, having first appeared as the character in the recent Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Kit Connor has been cast as Cyclops, and Samara Weaving will portray Emma Frost. Inde Navarrette, known for her role in Obsession, joins the cast as Rogue, while Broadway actor Maya Boyd will portray Storm. Professor X will be played by Christopher Abbott, an actor from the series Girls.
Adam Driver, a prominent figure from the Star Wars franchise, is set to portray the villainous Mr. Sinister. The initial casting announcement leaves several key X-Men characters, such as Wolverine and Magneto, unconfirmed, with no immediate plans announced for recasting Wolverine after Hugh Jackman's extensive tenure in the role.
The X-Men reboot is scheduled for release on May 5, 2028, and will be directed by Jake Schreier, who previously helmed Thunderbolts.
