A new trailer for Metro 2039 has been released, offering players a harrowing glimpse into the game's narrative and gameplay. Revealed in April, the fourth mainline entry in the Metro series takes place years after the events of Metro: Exodus. While the full plot remains under wraps, players will assume the role of a protagonist known only as The Stranger, tasked with surviving the perilous irradiated surface and the dangerous metro tunnels below.
As is tradition for the series, Metro 2039 will blend first-person shooting with survival mechanics and elements of horror. The trailer provides a look at these core gameplay pillars, showcasing the grim atmosphere and tense encounters players can expect.
Metro 2039 is slated for a February release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. An exact release date has not yet been announced.
