Microsoft is providing a special incentive for players pre-ordering Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on its platforms. Those who pre-order any edition of the game through the Microsoft Store, encompassing both Xbox and PC, will receive a $5 digital credit. This credit will be delivered as an Xbox gift card via a pop-up notification in the Xbox app on PC or directly on the Xbox console itself within 35 days following the game's launch on October 23. The promotional credit must be redeemed by December 15, 2026, and used within 90 days of redemption.
Beyond the $5 credit, which is exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem, Microsoft and Activision are reintroducing a "loyalty discount" for the game's premium $100 Vault Edition. This discount offers a 10% reduction, bringing the price down to $90. Eligibility for this discount requires players to have owned and played a qualifying Call of Duty title on the same platform account where they intend to pre-order the Vault Edition, or to have claimed and played such a title via PlayStation Plus. Existing Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and PC subscribers who have played one of the designated games also qualify. The loyalty discount is specifically tied to the platform account used for past play.
Modern Warfare 4 marks the first Call of Duty release since 2013 that will not be available on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Consequently, players who qualified for the loyalty discount by playing on a previous-generation console will still receive the offer for the current-generation version. Notably, as none of the qualifying games were released on Nintendo platforms, owners of the Nintendo Switch 2 are not eligible for this particular discount.
For players on PC, the qualifying titles for the loyalty discount include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered (2020), Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023), Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Further details on eligibility and the full list of qualifying games can be found on Activision's support website.
