Another wave of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay footage has emerged, reportedly showcasing further details of Vice City's interactive elements. The leaked video, which surfaced via Cyberleek, depicts a high-speed chase through the game's urban environment, highlighting new mechanics related to vehicle theft, law enforcement detection, and potentially vehicle security systems.
In one segment of the footage, the protagonist, Jason, is shown carjacking a "Truffade Thrax." Unlike in previous iterations of the series, the driver of the vehicle appears to actively resist the theft, requiring the player to engage in a struggle. This interaction reportedly depletes Jason's stamina meter, suggesting a more involved system for stealing vehicles.
The leak also offers a look at how law enforcement might detect stolen vehicles. As Jason speeds away, an icon resembling connected circles appears briefly on the highway, potentially indicating a traffic camera. Following passage of this icon, the player gains two wanted stars, which then disappear once they leave a designated "red zone." This suggests that in-game traffic cameras will play a role in identifying and tracking stolen cars.
Further details point to the inclusion of vehicle recovery systems, akin to LoJack. When Jason stops the stolen car, a red pin icon begins to blink. This behavior implies that if a car equipped with such a system is left stationary, law enforcement may be alerted to the vehicle's location, even without an active wanted level.
The footage also reconfirms Rockstar's penchant for adult humor in business names. Among the visuals are a rental truck company labeled "Truck-U" and a beverage truck for a drink called "Sitzpinkler." The bus featured in the clip is also numbered "420."
Beyond the more significant gameplay reveals, the leaked video also highlights finer environmental details. Road reflectors are shown to function realistically, reflecting headlights and improving lane visibility during nighttime driving, contributing to the overall believability of the game's world.
