The Pokémon Company's Japanese social media channels have begun a series of cryptic posts, leading to widespread speculation that an announcement, possibly concerning the next mainline Pokémon games, Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Waves, is imminent. The countdown is anticipated to conclude around 9 a.m. on November 30, 2026.
The pattern was first observed by Joe Merrick of Serebii. The initial post on October 18 featured an image of Bulbasaur and the number 1025, with accompanying Japanese text partially obscured, reading "Pokémon and."
Merrick noted that the time elapsed between this post and a subsequent one on October 26, which showed Goodra and the number 843, was precisely 182 hours. This duration corresponds to the difference between the two numbers (1025 - 843 = 182). A third post featuring Teddiursa and the number 676 further solidified the hourly countdown theory, with the revealed Japanese text translating to "Continue with Pokémon."
While the posts could be part of ongoing 30th-anniversary celebrations, which have so far centered on the Trading Card Game, the elaborate countdown suggests a more significant event. The author of the report speculates that the countdown might be for a new Pokémon Presents presentation. This would align with leaked information pointing to a November 2027 release for Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Waves, providing a year-long lead-up to the game's launch. Such a presentation could debut the first official footage of the new titles and introduce new Pokémon for the 10th generation.
