The original Toy Story 3 video game is set to be delisted from the digital Xbox store on September 29, 2026, just weeks before the launch of its new remaster. This move will make the 2010 title, originally priced at $9.99, unavailable for purchase on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Players who already own the game will retain access to it.

This delisting precedes the release of Toy Story 3: Complete Edition, a remaster developed by Atari and Digital Eclipse, scheduled for October 15, 2026. The updated version promises enhanced graphics, improved resolution, and a higher framerate, along with the inclusion of previously exclusive content. The delisting announcement on the Xbox store page explicitly mentions the upcoming Complete Edition, signaling a clear transition for players to the modernized version.

The original Toy Story 3 game was developed by Avalanche Software and published by Disney Interactive Studios. The Complete Edition is part of a broader initiative, "Toy Story: Retro Roundup," which will also see other classic Toy Story games re-released. This collection will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Pricing for the new releases will vary. A physical two-pack bundle containing both the Toy Story 3 Complete Edition and the Retro Roundup will be priced at $39.99 for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation platforms, with the Switch 2 version costing $49.99. Individually, the Toy Story 3 remaster is listed on the Nintendo eShop for $19.99 on either Switch console. The release of the Complete Edition is designed to offer an updated experience of the 3D adventure, featuring both a Story Mode that recreates authentic movie moments and a Toy Box Mode set in Woody's Roundup.

The original Toy Story 3 game received positive reception for a licensed title, with IGN awarding it a 7.5/10 in 2010, describing it as "an example of when a license game is done mostly right."
