Universal Studios theme parks in Hollywood and Orlando are honoring Ozzy Osbourne with a dedicated haunted house for this year's Halloween Horror Nights. Titled 'Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness,' the attraction promises a journey through the iconic musician's solo discography and imagery.

The haunted houses are designed as original creations, described as a "living horror movie" that uses Ozzy Osbourne's music from his post-Black Sabbath albums to guide guests. The experience acts as a chronological exploration of his career, with sets inspired by his album artwork. Visitors will traverse through environments ranging from dark dungeons and ancient ruins to a representation of Osbourne's home in Birmingham, England, culminating in the 'Osbourne Asylum,' which is inspired by his Diary of a Madman album. The attraction will also feature different personas of the singer, including Madman Ozzy, Werewolf Ozzy, and The Prince of Darkness.

According to Universal Studios, the 'Prince of Darkness' haunted houses aim to capture the "heavier sound and sinister imagery that defined the later years of Ozzy’s career," translating his creative evolution into a horror-themed journey. Sharon and Jack Osbourne, Ozzy's wife and son, have publicly supported the tribute, calling the haunted houses a "wonderful tribute" and noting that Ozzy "never stopped pushing boundaries" and would have appreciated the novel ways fans can experience his music.

John Murdy, Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, stated that Osbourne "didn't just help define heavy metal — he created a cultural phenomenon." He added that the new haunted house is an opportunity to honor his solo career, drawing inspiration from all 13 of his albums to create a trip through the surreal worlds that influenced his music and legacy.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort begins on Friday, August 28, and runs through Sunday, November 1. At Universal Studios Hollywood, the event commences on Thursday, September 3, and concludes on Sunday, November 1. Tickets for both locations are available for purchase on the official Halloween Horror Nights website.

This is not the first time Osbourne has been honored posthumously. In 2025, following his passing, developer Double Fine made the heavy metal-themed game Brütal Legend free for a limited period to commemorate the artist.
