Palworld's recent 1.0 update has brought a trio of new Pals to the Palpagos Islands: Whalaska, Eidrolon, and Solenne. Each of these Pals offers distinct utility, whether for combat, base management, or traversal.
Whalaska: The Chilled Whale Cruiser
Whalaska is a Water and Ice-type Pal found on the Isle of the Glacial Core. It can also be encountered via fishing near Feybreak Island or the Oil-Rig. Its elemental typing makes it vulnerable to Electric and Fire-type Pals, such as Dupin, Blazamut, Grizzbolt, and Rayhound. Elemental weapons like a Fire Bow or Fire Arrow Crossbow are also effective against it.
At the base, Whalaska excels with its Watering Level 5 and Cooling Level 6 Work Suitability, ideal for crop management and refrigeration. When equipped with the Whalaska Saddle, it functions as a mount. Its Partner Skill, 'Chilled Whale Cruiser,' enhances the fishing minigame by increasing the capture gauge and its filling speed.
Breeding Whalaska can be achieved through several combinations, including Anubis with Frostplume or Ghangler, Grizzbolt with Blazamut or Flaracle, Jormuntide with Wumpo or Jormuntide Ignis with Quivern, and Relaxaurus with Lyleen or Solenne. Whalaska hatches from a Large Frozen Egg.
Eidrolon: The Sky-Bound Dragon and Dark Pal
Eidrolon is a Dragon and Dark-type Pal introduced in the 1.0 update, serving as a flying mount and a potent attacker. It can be found as an Alpha Pal in the wild on the south-western island of Sunreach.
Eidrolon is weak against Ice and Dragon-type Pals, making Azurobe Cryst, Chillet, Jetragon, Elphidran, Quivern, Bastigor, or Frostallion suitable opponents. Ice-type weaponry, such as Ice Grenades, can also be used. Upon defeat, players may receive items like Leather, High Quality Pal Oil, Dragon Radiant Gems, and various Ancient Relics.
At a base, Eidrolon offers Transporting Level 6 Work Suitability, efficiently moving items to storage. Its Partner Skill, 'Liberated Pterosaur,' allows it to be ridden and boosts attack and movement speed by 2% for each Dragon or Dark-type Pal in the active party.
Breeding Eidrolon can be accomplished with combinations such as Anubis and Paladius or Frostallion, Jormuntide and Dandilord, Jormuntide Ignis and Faleris or Dualith, Blazamut and Lyleen or Lyleen Noct, and Blazamut Ryu with Dupin. Eidrolon hatches from a Large Dragon Egg.
Solenne: The Versatile Dark and Neutral Pal
Solenne, a Dark and Neutral-type Pal, is found west of the Gilded City Ruins in the World Tree area. Access to this region requires defeating all Tower bosses, making it an end-game Pal.
Solenne is vulnerable to Dark and Dragon-type Pals. High-level opponents like Astegon and Eidrolon are recommended for combat. Defeating Solenne can yield items such as Predator Core, Giant Pal Soul, Dark Fragments, and Neutral Radiant Gems, alongside several Ancient Relics.
Solenne possesses multiple Work Suitabilities: Handiwork Level 8, Gathering Level 4, and Transporting Level 2. Its Partner Skill, 'Untainted Maiden,' increases the player's attack when all other active party Pals are of different types, making Solenne valuable both for exploration and base operations. Solenne hatches from a Large Dark Egg.
Breeding Solenne involves combinations like Anubis with Jetragon or Dandilord, Frostallion with Blazamut, Dupin with Shaolong, Xenolord with Ignis, and Jetragon with Astegon.
