Developers of the upcoming life-simulation game Paralives have announced that they are addressing player feedback regarding the appearance of in-game babies. Some players have expressed that the current baby models are aesthetically unappealing, with descriptions ranging from looking too old or resembling specific characters.

Player Concerns and Developer Response

The issues highlighted by players primarily concern the facial features and proportions of the babies. Specific criticisms mention disproportionately small eyes and facial features positioned centrally on large heads, leading to an older or unusual appearance for infants. One notable observation pointed out a baby with "bags under its eyes" that made it appear world-weary.

In response to this feedback, the Paralives development team has confirmed they are revising the baby models. A sneak peek of the updated designs was shared on social media, showing a more conventionally infant-like appearance. These changes are slated for inclusion in the game's next patch, scheduled for release in early August.

While the majority of players seem to welcome the update, a portion of the community has also expressed a fondness for the original designs, with some comparing them to "medieval depictions of babies." The developers have acknowledged the diverse reactions but are proceeding with the redesign based on the significant player input.

The visual overhaul of the babies is part of Paralives' ongoing development, which aims to offer a comprehensive life-simulation experience as an alternative to established titles like The Sims. The game allows players to build families, pursue relationships, and manage virtual lives, with the appearance of characters, including infants, being a notable aspect of player immersion.
