PC Gamer has announced the return of its PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, scheduled to air on Sunday, September 20, 2026. This event follows the summer PC Gaming Show and precedes the year-end Most Wanted awards.
The Tokyo Direct format was introduced last year as a more intimate showcase, featuring world premieres, shadowdrops, and in-depth looks at titles such as Control Resonant, Total War: Warhammer 40,000, and Arkheron. PC Gamer sent staff to Tokyo to cover the event and explore the Tokyo Game Show floor, a practice that will continue this year.
Details regarding the specific games to be featured in the upcoming 2026 Tokyo Direct remain under wraps to preserve the element of surprise. However, PC Gamer has stated that attendees can expect to see "more awesome games." The broadcast will be available on major platforms including Steam, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and X. Additional viewing options, such as streamer watchalongs, will also be available, with a full list of platforms to be revealed closer to the event date. Viewers can catch up on last year's Tokyo Direct presentations via YouTube.
