Developer S-Game has unveiled significant details for its upcoming action role-playing game, Phantom Blade Zero, including an 11-minute pre-order trailer that offers a glimpse into its opening moments, cinematic sequences, combat, and boss encounters. The trailer was released on YouTube via both the official Phantom Blade Zero channel and actor Donnie Yen, who serves as a creative consultant and portrays the character Mó Yuan, contributing his martial arts expertise to the game's combat design.

Coinciding with the trailer's release, the official PlayStation account announced an upcoming State of Play presentation dedicated to the title. This deep dive is scheduled for August 17 at 10 p.m. ET. Speculation about a potential demo arose from reports of a demo page briefly appearing on the PlayStation Store.

Phantom Blade Zero, drawing heavily from wuxia influences, is the latest and most ambitious project from the Beijing-based S-Game, known for its Rainblood series. Phantom Blade Zero represents an expansion and rebranding of the original franchise, which notably included some of China's first indie game publications. The series previously saw a mobile side-scroller entry.

The game is slated for release on October 29. Players interested in securing their copy can now pre-order Phantom Blade Zero on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The standard edition is priced at $59.99 and includes the Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy outfit as pre-order bonuses. For $69.99, the deluxe edition offers the same bonuses along with the Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form outfits, a digital artbook, and the soundtrack. A unique incentive for pre-ordering on the Epic Games Store is the inclusion of the Soul's cosmetic set for Fortnite. The continued $59.99 price point for the standard edition has been met with approval from fans amid broader industry trends of rising game costs.

However, the availability of a physical edition remains uncertain. Currently, Phantom Blade Zero is only listed for digital pre-order. This has led to fan concern that, similar to other major releases, a physical version may not be available at launch, or at all, particularly as disc production in the industry shifts.
