Mindlabor, a development studio based in Turkey, has released Pight, a 2D block-pushing puzzler that draws significant inspiration from Minecraft's iconic redstone system. The game tasks players with guiding a lightbulb block to a power source by strategically employing an array of tools including pistons, dynamite, mystic portals, and electricity blocks.
Pight's core mechanics mirror the intricate logic gates and machinery that players can construct within Minecraft using its redstone components. The addition of redstone to Minecraft in 2010 was instrumental in the growth of the automation game genre, and Pight appears to translate that spirit into a more focused puzzle environment. Unlike its blocky inspiration, Pight offers a more tranquil experience, free from the potential disruptions of in-game antagonists.
The game features 90 levels, with new mechanics introduced approximately every ten stages. While later puzzles are described as potentially challenging, Pight includes an unlimited undo function to assist players who find themselves in a difficult situation. Additionally, a level editor allows players to create and share their own custom puzzles.
Pight is available on Steam for a modest price. The game is presented as a tribute to the complex contraptions possible with Minecraft's pistons and redstone, offering players a chance to engage with similar logic puzzles in a standalone format.
