Snail Games has launched Terracrypt, the first downloadable content expansion for its voxel-based survival game PixARK since 2019. The new expansion adds a significant subterranean world to the procedurally generated universe, promising over 200 hours of additional gameplay for $9.99. The DLC will be available for 10% off at launch on August 26, 2026, at 6 p.m. PST.
Terracrypt introduces players to a vast underground continent split into three distinct layers and twelve unique biomes. This new area is centered around a centuries-old conflict that players are drawn into after following a distress signal. Equipped with unique technology, players must investigate the ongoing conflict and potentially prevent a threat to the surface world. The expansion features over 80 new creatures to tame, almost doubling the total available in the base game, alongside 11 new enemy types.
Beyond new creatures and exploration, Terracrypt includes an in-depth story campaign. The expansion also introduces an innovative genetic engineering system, allowing players to create their own unique creatures and plant species. Players will encounter new allies and discover technologies designed to aid them in their subterranean quest.
PixARK, a spinoff of Ark: Survival Evolved, tasks players with surviving in procedurally generated worlds filled with quests and dinosaurs. The game has been available on PC and consoles for several years. Interested players can find more information on the game's official X account or Discord server.
