PlatinumGames CEO Jun Takeuchi has suggested that the company may have more plans for the Bayonetta series, following the announcement of Bayonetta-themed costumes for the upcoming Stellar Blade.

Speaking in a discussion that touched upon the Stellar Blade crossover, Takeuchi remarked that it had been some time since Bayonetta had received significant attention. The last mainline entry, Bayonetta 3, was released in 2022 to generally positive reviews, though it did face some criticism regarding the character's portrayal. Following creator Hideki Kamiya's departure from PlatinumGames in 2023, the future of the series seemed uncertain.

The collaboration with Stellar Blade, which will include four Bayonetta-inspired costumes for the game's Switch 2 port, indicates PlatinumGames' willingness to engage with the franchise. This, along with Bayonetta's inclusion in the mobile game Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, points to potential ongoing interest in the Umbral Witch.
