PlayStation has announced the lineup of free games for its PS Plus subscribers for July. Starting on July 7, PS5 and PS4 owners with an active subscription across all tiers will be able to add Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, For The King II, and Cross Code to their libraries. These games will be available to claim until August 3, after which a new selection will be offered.

While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is the marquee title, the inclusion is for the 2011 version of the game. Despite its age, the multiplayer component is noted for its fast-paced action, which could provide a lively environment for both new and returning players. This installment is not necessarily considered the strongest entry in the franchise, but its multiplayer may still appeal to fans.

For The King II is a tactical RPG that has garnered interest for its unique gameplay. Players can explore its challenges on either PS5 or PS4. The game appears to offer a compelling experience for fans of the genre, though finding the time to dive in amidst a packed release schedule can be a challenge for many players.

Rounding out the offerings is Cross Code, an RPG originally released in 2018. It has received critical acclaim, with former Kotaku writer Jason Schreier having described it as "excellent." This title offers a different flavor of role-playing experience for subscribers to explore.

PlayStation Plus subscribers should also remember to claim June's free games, which include Grounded, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, and EA Sports FC 26. These must be added to accounts by July 6. Once claimed, the July games can be played at any time as long as the subscriber maintains an active PS Plus membership.
