Poinpy, the mobile platformer from Moppin, the creator of the acclaimed indie game Downwell, is now available for free on iOS and Android devices. Previously, the game was an exclusive offering for Netflix's game subscription service.
Poinpy tasks players with guiding the titular green blob character up a series of screens. The gameplay involves making a limited number of bouncy jumps while collecting ingredients to create juice for a pursuing beast. The title's soundtrack was composed by Calum Bowen, who also handled sound design for The Mermaid Mask.
Moppin, also known as Ojiro Fumoto, has a history of notable game development, having worked on projects such as UFO 50 and directed Seaside Drive. While Game Informer did not publish a review of Poinpy, executive editor Kyle Hilliard reviewed the game for GameSpot during his tenure as mobile editor, awarding it an 8/10.
