The world of Pokémon Pokopia is set to expand with a free underwater-themed update and a multi-part paid DLC expansion. Announced during the Nintendo Direct on June 9, 2026, these additions aim to enhance player creativity and exploration within the game.
The free Version 2.0 update, scheduled for release in August 2026, will introduce the "Dive Transformation." This new ability will grant players the capacity to explore underwater environments indefinitely, opening up possibilities for building submerged habitats for Pokémon.
To unlock the Dive Transformation, players will need to have completed the "Raise the Environment Level!" quest in Bleak Beach and possess both the Jump and Surf Transformations. This update promises to significantly alter how players interact with the game's world and their creations.
Alongside the free update, the first wave of paid DLC, also arriving in August 2026, will launch the "Bubbly Basin." This expansion will introduce an underwater town populated by sea-dwelling Pokémon. Preorders for the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass are now available on the Nintendo eShop. Those who preorder the pass will immediately receive a recipe for dynamic Ditto print blocks and wallpaper, along with a code for 30 Rare Pokémetal Ingots delivered via email.
The paid DLC will be released in three distinct waves. Part 1, "Bubbly Basin," is expected in August 2026. Part 2, scheduled for late 2026, will focus on introducing new crafting recipes and gameplay features. The third and final part is slated for release in 2027 and will include another new town to explore.
Pokémon Pokopia allows players to build alongside Pokémon, leading to a wide array of creative constructions. These upcoming updates and DLC are expected to further encourage such endeavors, offering new environments and tools for players to utilize.
