Pokemon Pokopia's underwater expansion, Bubbly Basin, is set to launch on August 5, bringing with it a significant quality-of-life improvement: a shared storage item. This highly anticipated feature will allow players to deposit and withdraw items from anywhere in the game world, eliminating the need for frequent travel between towns.
The shared storage item, a craftable addition, will hold up to 140 items. This functionality is expected to be particularly beneficial for players focused on building and design aspects of the game, streamlining the process of gathering specific resources. Alongside the storage solution, the Bubbly Basin update introduces the ability to dive underwater, a mechanic themed around the expansion's aquatic focus.
To aid navigation in these new underwater areas, the update will include visual indicators designed to help players orient themselves and mitigate potential motion sickness. The expansion also adds new crafting materials, such as floating blocks for building on water surfaces and frameless glass for more elaborate glass constructions.
While the shared storage, diving mechanic, and new craftable items are part of the free update, some content is exclusive to the paid expansion pass. This premium content includes the Bubbly Basin town, new Pokemon encounters, and additional architecture kits. Bubbly Basin is the first of three planned DLC releases for Pokopia. The full expansion pass can be purchased on the Nintendo eShop for $35 standalone or as part of a $105 bundle with the base game.
