The latest Pokémon expansion, Pitch Black, has now arrived in Pokémon TCG Live, the digital iteration of the trading card game. This Darkrai-themed collection is available for players on both mobile and PC platforms. For those acquiring physical Pitch Black booster packs, each includes a redeemable code to unlock its digital counterpart in TCG Live.
To coincide with the expansion’s release, Pokémon TCG Live features a new battle board color scheme. Players who log in will receive a Mega Darkrai ex deck and three new tutorial lessons designed to assist with the new cards. The Pitch Black expansion introduces a total of 115 new cards to collect.
Beyond the cards themselves, players can unlock a new Pitch Black accessory. Additional cosmetic items, such as the Mega Chandelure hat and shirt, are available for purchase in the in-game shop. Progressing through the new Battle Pass will also grant players access to the Mega Chandelure ex deck. A developer-created cheat sheet is available to help players navigate the Battle Pass.
The update also brings several quality-of-life enhancements to Pokémon TCG Live. The Deck Editor has been upgraded with new filters for rarity and regulation, and a deck validity checker has been implemented to streamline the deck-building process across different game modes.
As with the start of a new season, there has been a rank reset, accompanied by new unlockable rewards, including the new Master Ball. The developers have indicated that events tied to the Pitch Black expansion are planned for the near future. A specific announcement highlighted a new visual feature: "And lastly, when you tap on a card in the Deck Collection or Deck Panel, the selected card is highlighted."
