Pokémon Unite will celebrate its fifth anniversary in July by introducing four Legendary Pokémon to its roster. Yveltal, Palkia, Reshiram, and Solgaleo are scheduled to be added gradually throughout July and August. These powerful additions will be obtainable by participating in in-game events.
Yveltal, the mascot of Pokémon Y, is set to be the first Legendary to arrive on July 3. Following Yveltal, Palkia, the mascot of Pokémon Pearl and its remake, will be available starting July 17. The next Legendary to join the fray will be Reshiram, from Pokémon Black, on August 7. Finally, Solgaleo, the mascot of Pokémon Sun, will complete the Legendary lineup on August 21.
In addition to the Legendary Pokémon, the game's next Battle Pass, launching with Season 43 on July 1, will feature Regal Style: Pikachu. This cosmetic outfit is likely to be a reward for players who purchase the Premium Pass, a common practice in free-to-play games that offer tiered rewards. Previous Battle Passes have also featured unique Pokémon styles, such as Pokébuki Style: Tyranitar and Dryad Style: Espeon.
Pokémon Unite is a free-to-play MOBA where two teams of five players engage in strategic battles. Players choose a Pokémon, level it up by defeating wild Pokémon, and evolve it during matches. The game originally launched in July 2021 for Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS devices, receiving a mixed reception that acknowledged its engaging MOBA mechanics despite some concerns regarding in-game purchases and the overall grind.
