Prime Video is expanding its Lee Child universe with a new spin-off series titled "Neagley," set to premiere on September 16. This launch coincides with the season 4 finale of the flagship series "Reacher," positioning the new show as an immediate follow-up.
The "Neagley" series will center on Frances Neagley, portrayed by Maria Sten, who reprises her role from "Reacher." Neagley, a former Master Sergeant from the 110th MP Special Investigations Unit and a trusted ally of Jack Reacher, transitions to a corporate private investigator. The eight-episode series is designed as a standalone thriller, requiring no prior knowledge of "Reacher" lore.
The plot kicks off when Neagley investigates the suspicious death of a close friend, which is officially ruled a suicide. Her inquiry into the circumstances quickly uncovers a dangerous and widespread conspiracy. The narrative structure is expected to echo the appeal of the "Reacher" series, following a highly capable investigator operating outside conventional boundaries.
While Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson, is confirmed to make an appearance, the "Neagley" series will focus on original storytelling rather than adapting a specific Lee Child novel. This approach mirrors the character's growing prominence in the books. The series is co-created by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, with veteran director Sam Hill helming the initial episodes. Lee Child himself is involved as an executive producer. A standalone novel, "Zero Margin," set in the same universe and featuring Neagley, is slated for release in 2027 after the show airs.
"Neagley" premieres exclusively on Prime Video on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with all eight episodes available on the same day. The release strategy ensures a continuous flow of content for fans, with the "Reacher" season 4 finale immediately preceding the debut of the new spin-off.
