Rebel Wolves has announced that The Blood of Dawnwalker will feature a 60 frames per second performance mode for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X consoles at launch. This update comes as a direct response to fan concerns raised after a recent gameplay trailer showcased only 30 fps and 40 fps options. The game is set to release on September 3.

Console players will have a choice between three modes: quality at 30 fps, balanced at 40 fps, and the newly confirmed performance mode targeting 60 fps. The decision to add the performance mode was made after Rebel Wolves felt confident in their ability to deliver it on day one, according to a statement on X. The developer explained that the mode was already in development but required further testing before a public commitment could be made.

Fan reactions to the initial console footage, particularly a private YouTube video from August 21, indicated significant disappointment. Comments on various platforms highlighted expectations for 60 fps as a standard for current-generation hardware in 2026. Some players considered a 30 fps cap on current-gen consoles to be unacceptable.

However, the performance boost will not extend to the Xbox Series S. Players on that platform will experience The Blood of Dawnwalker capped at 30 fps.
