Modders are preparing to launch "Red Dead Redemption 2: Nuevo Paraiso," a significant expansion mod that adds recreations of Mexico to Rockstar's acclaimed western. The mod is scheduled for release on September 16th.
Spearheaded by modder Rixus724, who has been involved in previous attempts to expand the game's map into Mexico, "Nuevo Paraiso" aims to provide a detailed and immersive experience. According to a synopsis for the mod, it will allow players to "rediscover the vast and unforgiving state of Nuevo Paraíso, recreated to fit seamlessly within the story and timeline of Red Dead Redemption 2 in 1907."
The mod's description details a Mexico on the verge of change, featuring beautiful landscapes and growing settlements juxtaposed with political unrest and government oppression. Players will be able to explore "a living frontier, from its quiet towns and remote ranches to its railways, bandit hideouts, and territories under government control." The mod is expected to include features such as gang hideouts, train robberies, new mysteries, and hidden secrets.
A recent trailer for the mod showcased potential cameos from Red Dead Redemption 2 characters John Marston and Sadie Adler. While their inclusion might be for preview purposes, the mod promises that "every corner offers something new to discover as Nuevo Paraíso expands beyond its original boundaries."
"Red Dead Redemption 2: Nuevo Paraiso" will be available via Nexus Mods. Players will likely need a copy of the base game and RDR2's Script Hook to run the mod upon its release next month.
