Zach Cregger, the director of the upcoming Resident Evil film, has revealed his preferred actress to portray the towering Lady Dimitrescu in a live-action adaptation. Speaking with Pedestrian.TV, Cregger identified Christina Hendricks as his choice for the role, stating, "That feels about right to me."
Lady Dimitrescu, a fan-favorite character from 2021's Resident Evil Village, did not appear in Cregger's upcoming movie, which features an original story. However, Cregger confirmed his familiarity with the franchise, suggesting he has a clear vision for potential future casting.
The vampire-like Lady Dimitrescu captivated many Resident Evil players with her imposing stature and femme fatale persona upon Village's release. Her popularity led to widespread fan art and even life-size cardboard cutouts being distributed in video game stores. Although the character has not yet returned to the game series, her likeness is still prominent, with her costume being unlockable in the Deluxe Edition of Resident Evil Requiem.
While Cregger's original approach to the Resident Evil franchise has drawn some criticism from fans, early reactions to the film have been positive, and box office projections appear strong. Cregger has also indicated he has concepts for potential sequels, leaving open the possibility for Lady Dimitrescu's future appearance on screen.
