Angela Sant'Albano, known for her role as Grace Ashcroft in the acclaimed Resident Evil Requiem, is reportedly set to star in the upcoming action RPG Tides of Annihilation. This comes after Jennifer English, originally cast as the lead, stepped down from the project due to personal health reasons in July.
Eclipse Glow Games, the developer behind Tides of Annihilation, has not yet officially confirmed Sant'Albano's casting. However, a recent exchange on X, formerly Twitter, between motion-capture actor Jennifer Prime and a fan strongly suggests the news. Prime confirmed that Sant'Albano would be voicing the character, responding with "Yep!!!" to a comment about her taking over the role.
English, who also starred in Baldur's Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, was initially slated to lead Tides of Annihilation. While she has stepped away from performing the lead role, she will reportedly continue to contribute to the project in an advisory capacity.
Tides of Annihilation is described as an action RPG with a blend of Soulslike and Final Fantasy 16 elements. The game follows the protagonist Gwendolyn on a quest through a post-apocalyptic London to find the Holy Grail and her missing sister, encountering characters inspired by Arthurian legends. The game is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, though a specific release date has not yet been announced. A demo is expected to be playable at Gamescom next week.
