Riot Games has unveiled an ambitious release roadmap for its trading card game, Riftbound, detailing new expansions and special products through 2027. The game's fourth expansion, Vendetta, launched on July 31, marking the first time all supported languages received the set simultaneously. Players can anticipate one more expansion, Radiance, on October 23, before the year concludes.
The 2027 release schedule kicks off with the sixth set, Legacy, on January 29. This set is notable for being the game's largest to date, featuring 346 cards and a design heavily oriented towards the draft format. Legacy also introduces a second iteration of Proving Grounds, a collection of four preconstructed decks aimed at new players. Unlike the first edition, which included cards exclusive to the preconstructed decks, Proving Grounds Second Edition will feature cards available within Legacy booster packs. The set will add 12 new playable Legends, including Ashe, Garen, Heimerdinger, Illaoi, Karma, Lux, Tryndamere, and Vladimir.
Following Legacy, the seventh set, The Reckoning, is scheduled for release on April 30, 2027. While details are still emerging for this 264-card set, Riot Games has teased the inclusion of massive Champions and creatures. The Reckoning will introduce nine new playable Legends, such as Aurelion Sol, Cho'Gath, Shyvana, Vayne, and Zilean. Specifics for the eighth and ninth sets remain under wraps, though Set 8 is confirmed to focus on Bandle City, the home of the Yordles, and Set 9 will highlight the Shadow Isles.
Beyond the main set releases, Riftbound is expanding its range of ancillary products. The Secret Garden kit, themed around the third set Unleashed and the Legend card Ivern, Green Father, is available at select events, with its debut at GenCon. Future opportunities to acquire this $70 kit include Regional Qualifier tournaments in Barcelona, Singapore, and Los Angeles, as well as PAX West in Seattle. The Secret Garden kit contains three alternate art cards (Ivern, Green Father; Lillia, Bashful Bloom; and Ultrasoft Poro), five alternate art double-sided tokens, two sleeve packs, two full art postcards, and three Unleashed booster packs.
Another significant product is the Riftbound x T1 2025 Worlds Championship Collection, set to release on August 14 and available until August 17 via a drawing. This collection includes a five-card alternate art selection of Champion cards chosen by members of the T1 esports team. This release also marks the first time Riftbound cards will feature a serialized treatment. The cards and their T1 player selectors are: Ambessa, The Wolf (Doran), Galio, Indefatigable (Faker), Miss Fortune, Buccaneer (Gumayusi), Seraphine, Not Alone (Keria), and Xin Zhao, Vigilant (Oner). A more accessible T1 Worlds Champion Player Bundle will also be available for $70, featuring the same five Champion cards with different art, alongside game accessories.
To celebrate Riftbound's first year, the Gift of the Rift Bundle will be released on December 4, 2026. This bundle includes booster packs from the game's first five expansions, seasonal accessories, and an alternate art Akali, Rogue Assassin Legend card. The Akali promo is exclusive to the English version, with Chinese printings receiving an alternate Kennen, Heart of the Tempest Legend card. The bundle will be sold at mass retailers and local game stores, with pricing yet to be announced. It will contain 16 booster packs (three each of Origins, Spiritforged, Unleashed, and Vendetta, plus four of Radiance), 36 Runes (six of each basic rune with foil treatment), the Akali promo card, 100 sleeves featuring the Akali promo art, and a 2000-card storage box.
