Rockstar Games has confirmed a physical release for the Grand Theft Auto VI soundtrack, titled Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. The collection of music will be published by Rockstar Games and Atlantic Records and is set to launch on November 19, coinciding with the digital release of the game.
A double LP vinyl edition will be available for $50, and a double CD version for $20. For collectors, a limited edition vinyl set featuring "two transparent magenta discs filled with blue liquid" and exclusive artwork will be sold for $125. All editions are currently available for preorder.
This announcement comes shortly after a leak from Dealabs and follows a series of teasers from music streaming service Spotify and various artists. Musicians including Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, CA7RIEL, Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., Etienne de Crécy, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, and Keith Richards are confirmed to have contributed to the album, with more tracks yet to be announced.
Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is also available for pre-save on major streaming services, where the first six tracks are currently accessible. These include "That's It" by Yung Lean featuring Future and Metro Boomin, Travis Scott's "RHYNO", and Keith Richards' "Bright Lights, Big City."
The physical soundtrack release is notable given that Grand Theft Auto 6 itself will not be available on a physical disc, a decision that has drawn criticism from some fans. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously defended the lack of a disc version for the game, stating that physical discs "don’t really make sense for the consumer."
