Samara Weaving is reportedly set to portray Emma Frost, also known as the White Queen, in Marvel Studios' upcoming X-Men film, according to a new report from Deadline. This casting news comes as Marvel Studios continues to build its roster for the X-Men cinematic franchise reboot.

Weaving, known for her roles in "The Babysitter" and "Ready or Not," is expected to bring the telepathic mutant to life. While Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed the casting, industry speculation has been rife with potential actors for various X-Men roles, including Adam Driver as Mister Sinister and Cailee Spaeny as Rogue.

Emma Frost, a prominent figure in Marvel Comics since her debut in 1980's "The Uncanny X-Men" #129, was originally introduced as a member of the Hellfire Club. Over time, she evolved from an adversary into a central member and leader of the X-Men. Her abilities include powerful telepathy and the capacity to transform her body into organic diamond.

The character has previously appeared in live-action, with January Jones portraying her in "X-Men: First Class." Emma Frost has also been featured in animated series, voiced by Tracey Moore in "X-Men: The Animated Series" and Zehra Fazal in "X-Men '97."

Weaving has a prior connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as her uncle, Hugo Weaving, played the Red Skull in "Captain America: The First Avenger."

Marvel Studios has not yet announced a release date for the new X-Men movie. The studio's slate for 2028 includes three film slots, with "Black Panther 3" and "Ghost Rider" reportedly occupying two of them. Upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe releases include "Avengers: Doomsday" in December and "Avengers: Secret Wars" in December 2027.
