Developer and publisher Elementa has unveiled its open-world action RPG, Silver Palace, confirming a release for PC, mobile, and PlayStation 5. The announcement arrived alongside a new trailer at gamescom Opening Night Live, following a recent beta test and the accumulation of over 10 million pre-registrations worldwide. IGN had hands-on time with a playable demo at the event.
The new trailer introduces the game's protagonist, the Detective, exploring a sprawling city and engaging in combat. It hints at the game's blend of dynamic action and tension, featuring characters like Ashley, Gratia, and Red Rose, alongside boss encounters. A notable reveal within the trailer is "House of Greed," a new multiplayer combat experience.
Elementa's gamescom booth featured interactive elements such as photo opportunities and merchandise zones, alongside a playable demo area. The setup utilized NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 PCs, demonstrating the game's support for DLSS 4.5 and raytracing at launch, aiming to showcase the immersive qualities of the world of Silvernia.
During hands-on gameplay, players experienced a mystical world populated by flying silver whales, ornate architecture, and fantastical foes. The demo presented a scenario where the Detective, after an assassination attempt on the Queen, is thrust into a boss battle against two large humanoids. Combat mechanics involved a mix of light, ranged, and ultimate attacks, complemented by dodging and parrying. Exploration in the city of Silvernia, even on a silverwork horse, led to further encounters, including a boss fight against a unique rendition of 'Cinderella' who weaponized her pumpkin carriage. This segment also offered a glimpse into the ability to seamlessly switch between playable characters in combat, each offering distinct movesets and ultimate abilities.
The gamescom presence also included live performances, cosplayer meet-and-greets, and influencer sessions. Characters like the Detective, Alf, and Red Rose were represented, and a sculpture of Cinderella's pumpkin carriage from the boss battle was a highlight. Live music and dance performances contributed to the energetic atmosphere, with attendees participating in activities to earn rewards such as art cards and coaster sets.
Elementa developers discussed the game's direction, explaining the choice for a darker, horror-inspired tone in the Opening Night Live trailer. They described it as an intentional stylistic choice to contrast elegant, fairy-tale-inspired characters with distorted, unsettling creatures, creating a distinct atmosphere rooted in the game's world.
Regarding the "House of Greed" mode, developers confirmed it is in early development and planned as part of the main game experience. This multiplayer mode will feature a classic over-the-shoulder camera perspective, focusing on room-based exploration and third-person shooting, differentiating it from the main game's squad-based, real-time character-switching combat.
Addressing the milestone of over 10 million pre-registrations, the development team expressed gratitude for player patience and feedback gathered during previous closed beta tests, noting its importance to the development process.
Following its gamescom debut, Silver Palace has been nominated for the gamescom Best Mobile Game Award. A third closed beta test is scheduled to occur soon, offering another opportunity for players to experience the game ahead of its full release. More information is available on the official website.
