The ambitious Skyblivion mod, a fan-made remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion within Skyrim's engine, is making a final appeal for volunteer quest editors. Developers announced that "the world is built — now we need your help bringing it to life," indicating that while environments are largely complete, the focus has shifted to populating that world with engaging content.

This call for quest editors is not entirely new, as it was highlighted in a previous recruitment post in March. However, the urgency is amplified as the team addresses what they describe as "final roadblocks" to the mod's release. Skyblivion's implementation lead, Heavy Burns, explained in a Discord conversation that providing detailed statistical breakdowns of remaining work is becoming less relevant. "Most things on paper are either done or very close to being done," Burns stated, noting that the team is now primarily tracking and fixing bugs and implementing quests.

Burns elaborated that the nature of development at this stage makes precise public reporting challenging. Unlike earlier phases where tasks like replacing assets or creating unstarted interiors were more quantifiable, current work involves ongoing bug fixing and quest implementation, which are more fluid. Updates on completed areas, such as Ayleid ruins and caves, are being shared as they are finalized after quality assurance.

Project lead Kyle 'Rebelzize' Rebel had previously acknowledged the team being "stretched thin" but expressed optimism following progress on the Imperial City. The mod's planned release was delayed from 2025 to 2026 late last year, with a detailed progress video released at the time. Now, the focus is on securing the necessary talent to cross the finish line.

Those with experience in quest editing and a desire to contribute to the Skyblivion project can find volunteer application details on the mod's official website. The developers are eager for assistance to expedite the release of the extensive Oblivion remake.
