The Super Nintendo Entertainment System action-RPG Terranigma, originally released in 1995, is set to receive a PC re-release. Developers Clear River Games Development and Limited Run are collaborating on the project, which is slated for release on Steam and GOG in early 2027.

Terranigma takes place on a hollow planet where civilization is split between an outer Lightside and an inner Darkside. Players assume the role of Crysta, a young inhabitant of the Darkside who uncovers a forbidden door. The game features character designs by manga artist Kamui Fujiwara, Mode 7-style aviation sequences, and detailed village and battle environments. Gameplay involves real-time combat where Crysta uses a spear.

Quintet, the original developer, is known for games marked by themes of creation and destruction, with Terranigma often cited as their magnum opus. The GOG page describes it as a "technical and storytelling powerhouse and a timeless classic."

Clear River Games Development is part of Clear River Games AB, a publisher founded in 2019 and owned by THQ Nordic/Embracer Group. Their previous work includes ports and remasters such as Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story and System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster.
