A unique solo journaling role-playing game, Advent of Adventure, is currently running a Kickstarter campaign that is set to conclude soon. This fantasy-themed tabletop experience is presented in the format of an advent calendar, offering players a daily prompt to craft their own narrative.
The premise of Advent of Adventure sees a dragon descending upon the North Pole and absconding with a hoard of Christmas gifts. Players are tasked with imagining their character and then, on each subsequent day, a new door on the calendar reveals a prompt to further the story, ultimately leading to a conclusion devised by the player.
This title follows the independent UK-based publisher's previous release, Advent of Abomination, which offered a similar concept with a darker, Yuletide horror theme. That game incorporated a scare rating to guide the tone of each entry and provided decision points for varying narrative paths.
The physical version of Advent of Adventure is priced at £15, with a digital PDF available for £5. Additional items, such as stickers, coloring sheets, and prints of the cover art, can also be added to pledges. The publisher is also reprinting both Advent of Adventure and Advent of Abomination, with estimated delivery for November, aiming to ensure timely arrival for the holiday season.
