Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home is set to return to cinemas across the UK in celebration of the film's 40th anniversary. The re-release will begin on September 4, 2026, and coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Star Trek franchise.

Tickets for the screenings are now on sale. Artist Matt Ferguson, who also created commemorative posters for the 40th-anniversary re-releases of Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock, has produced new artwork to mark the occasion. Specific details regarding special screenings and further events are expected to be announced soon.

Directed by Leonard Nimoy, Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home originally premiered in 1986. The film's plot involves the crew of the Enterprise traveling back to 1980s Earth in a Klingon vessel to retrieve two humpback whales, which are believed to be crucial for saving the planet in their own time. The film's return to theaters is part of a year-long celebration for the Star Trek franchise, with Star Trek Day on September 8 serving as a focal point for many anniversary festivities.

Currently, the re-release has only been confirmed for UK cinemas, with no official announcement regarding theatrical runs in other regions. IGN previously reviewed the collector's edition of the film, awarding it an 8/10.
