Stardew Valley creator Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone has revealed that the game's upcoming 1.7 update is slated for release in 2027 and is expected to be the largest content addition to date. The announcement was made during the finale of the Stardew Valley soundtrack tour at Colorado's Red Rocks.

Barone described the update as "jam-packed" and hinted that the additions go far beyond the previously announced marriage options for Clint and Sandy. While specific details remain under wraps, speculation suggests the update could introduce improvements to the game's children, a new farm map, and a farm map editor that would allow players greater freedom in designing their farm layouts. The possibility of social features enabling players to share their custom map designs has also been raised.

In parallel, Barone continues development on his next project, Haunted Chocolatier, which he has described as a more action-RPG-focused title with slightly darker themes than Stardew Valley. While Haunted Chocolatier is likely further from release than the 1.7 update, more news on both projects is anticipated in the coming months.
