Actor Stephen Root has confirmed his participation in Grand Theft Auto 6, appearing to deviate from Rockstar Games' typically secretive marketing strategy. Root, recognized for his roles as Bill Dauterive and Buck Strickland in "King of the Hill," disclosed his involvement during an interview with the Associated Press.

"Yeah, you’re gonna see me in it,” Root stated, adding that the game is currently slated for a November 19 release. He suggested that his character may have been present in earlier marketing materials from Grand Theft Auto 6’s initial rollout, with fans recognizing his distinctive voice.

This speculation was fueled by the second Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, which featured a character whose voice strongly resembled Root's. This character was identified as Brian Heder, a drug trafficker and associate of protagonist Jason. He is seen demanding rent payments from Jason.

Further details about Brian Heder emerged in the GTA 6 Extended Look, where he dispenses advice and is shown with his wife, Lori Heder. According to Rockstar's official description, Brian is a "classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys," still active in transporting illicit goods with his third wife, Lori. The description notes that Brian allows Jason to stay at one of his properties in exchange for assistance with "local shakedowns" and occasional visits from Lori.

Root expressed his satisfaction with being part of the project, calling it "an amazing thing to look at." Rockstar Games has maintained a policy of not officially confirming any cast members for Grand Theft Auto 6, prompting fans to piece together the identities of the actors themselves. The voices and identities of the game's dual protagonists, Jason and Lucia, remain unconfirmed.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19.
