The iconic Tamagotchi virtual pet is shrinking down to fit on your finger with the introduction of the Tamagotchi Ring. This new iteration measures just 23mm x 28mm, approximately 0.9 inches by 1.1 inches, yet retains a functional minuscule screen and buttons.

The device was revealed at the Tokyo Toy Show, signaling Bandai's intent to integrate the Tamagotchi franchise more deeply into fashion. The company has previously partnered with artists and brands, including Uniqlo, to expand the brand's reach beyond traditional toys. The Tamagotchi Ring is designed to appeal to both long-time fans nostalgic for the original 1990s craze and newer audiences drawn in by Y2K trends.

Available in three color combinations—pink and pearl white, light blue and metallic gold, and black and metallic silver—the Tamagotchi Ring is positioned as a stylish accessory as much as a virtual pet care device. Promotional images show individuals wearing the ring while engaging in everyday activities, suggesting a design meant for constant wear.

Initial pre-orders for the Tamagotchi Ring on Bandai's official website, scheduled to ship in February 2026, have already sold out. A second round of pre-orders is slated to open on August 29, though demand is expected to make securing one a challenge.
