Fans will have to wait longer to see Robert Pattinson's Batman return, as The Batman Part 2 has been delayed once again to February 18, 2028. This announcement comes from Warner Bros. amidst a wider reshuffling of their film slate.

Director Matt Reeves shared the news, accompanied by a brief camera test video featuring Pattinson's Batman. The visual, which showed snow falling around the caped crusader, suggests the sequel may take place during winter, a detail previously hinted at by Reeves on social media regarding "snow tires."

This marks the latest in a series of delays for the film. Originally slated for an October 2025 release, it was later pushed to October 2026, and then to October 2027, before the current 2028 date was set. The original The Batman, released on March 4, 2022, means there will be a six-year gap between films if this new release date holds.

The ensemble cast is expected to return, with Robert Pattinson reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Colin Farrell will be back as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. Barry Keoghan is also rumored to reprise his role as the Joker. New additions to the standalone Batman universe include Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, and Brian Tyree Henry. Details regarding the roles of these new actors are still emerging, with some reports suggesting Sebastian Stan will portray Harvey Dent/Two-Face, while other rumors link him to Victor Zsasz and Henry to Dent. Scarlett Johansson is reportedly set to play Gilda Dent, Harvey's wife.
