Production on Matt Reeves' The Batman: Part 2 is currently underway in London, and recent set photos have provided a glimpse at potential villains for Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader. The latest images capture a large protest scene, featuring extras holding signs with slogans such as "Court of Oligarchs," "Court of Fouls," and "Eat the Rich."

The repeated use of the word "Court" has fueled speculation among fans that the Court of Owls, a prominent villainous organization from Scott Snyder's New 52 Batman comic run, will feature in the sequel. This aligns with director Matt Reeves' previous statement that the film's primary antagonist has not been depicted on screen before.

The Court of Owls, a secret cabal of wealthy Gotham citizens, would logically fit within the context of a protest scene, potentially challenging Bruce Wayne's status as a member of the city's elite. This could build upon the themes of family legacy and civic responsibility explored in the first film.

Anarky Joins the Fray

In addition to the Court of Owls teases, the set photos also reveal a character dressed in a white mask and a jacket adorned with the anarchy symbol. This visual strongly suggests the appearance of Anarky, a character known for his radical political beliefs and desire to overthrow corrupt institutions. Anarky's presence would place him in direct opposition to both the Court of Owls and Bruce Wayne, further complicating the narrative.

While Anarky has been featured in adaptations like Batman: Arkham Origins and the CW series Arrow, this would mark his big-screen debut, once again fitting Reeves' earlier comments about introducing new cinematic villains. If these set photos and fan theories prove accurate, The Batman: Part 2 appears poised to feature a substantial rogues' gallery.
