Massive Entertainment has announced a new downloadable content expansion for Tom Clancy's The Division 2. Titled Echoes of Central Park, the expansion was revealed at a community panel held during Gamescom and is set to receive a full reveal on September 24.
The upcoming content will bring players into Central Park, driven by a distress call originating from within the iconic Manhattan location. According to developers, Echoes of Central Park aims for a darker tone, steeped in fear and mystery. Players and their in-game characters will be uncertain about the conditions within the park and its state since the initial outbreak.
Massive Entertainment has stated that the DLC will offer significant replayability, incorporating "a few twists" to ensure a unique gameplay experience. The studio intends to focus more heavily on gameplay mechanics rather than solely introducing new story elements, though the specific manifestations of these gameplay enhancements remain to be detailed.
