The official Japanese website for the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake has revealed bonus content, including early glimpses of character art, gameplay clips, and a preview of a remixed Gerudo Valley theme. This musical excerpt, approximately 15 seconds in length, offers fans their first listen to a modern rendition of one of the original game's most beloved tracks.

The Gerudo Valley theme, a memorable guitar melody from the original Ocarina of Time, accompanied Link's journey through the outdoor areas surrounding Gerudo Fortress. This location served as a crucial area where Link had to navigate and rescue captive carpenters before obtaining a token to access the Desert Colossus dungeon. The original song has been celebrated for its energetic composition.

Despite its popularity, the Gerudo Valley theme has seen limited use in full within the broader Zelda franchise. While the Gerudo tribe has appeared in titles like Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild, direct musical callbacks to the iconic "Gerudo Valley" location and its theme have been infrequent. Notably, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom featured distinct themes for Gerudo Town, even with the Gerudo Valley area present. Previous notable arrangements include versions from Super Smash Bros. and Crypt of the Necrodancer: Cadence of Hyrule.

The inclusion of a new remix in the Ocarina of Time remake is seen by some as a long-overdue recognition of the theme's musical significance. However, the preview clip available on the official website reportedly cuts off before reaching the most impactful section of the song, leaving listeners to anticipate the full release for a complete auditory experience.
