The Pokémon Company is facing a class-action lawsuit from employees and visitors who claim the company did not adequately protect them from a former director accused of installing cameras in office bathrooms. The lawsuit was filed by a woman using the pseudonym Jane Doe, who alleges that The Pokémon Company failed to address signs of the alleged behavior and provide sufficient supervision.

The suit seeks to represent anyone who used the restrooms at the company's Bellevue office or at local stores between 2017 and July 2026. Authorities reportedly found "hundreds" of videos recorded from inside the Pokémon office bathroom, as well as from a local Starbucks and the former director's home.

Ben Tsai, the ex-Pokémon Company director of engineering, was arrested in January on charges including voyeurism and possession of child sexual abuse material. His lawyer has stated that Tsai will plead not guilty to all charges. The original report from the Seattle Times indicated that Tsai claimed he was "mainly curious about transgender people and was not attracted to children."

The Pokémon Company has stated that its "focus remains on the well-being of our employees" and declined to comment further on the pending litigation.
