The summer gaming drought is officially over as the industry gears up for its typical fall release schedule, with several notable titles launching this week. Among the larger releases are Capcom’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Rebel Wolves’ action-RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker, but two smaller indie games have also captured attention.

Isle of Reveries, described as a top-down action-adventure in the vein of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, features eight distinct overworld biomes and seven dungeons, each presenting unique puzzles and items. While its developers aim for quality comparable to titles like Yacht Club Games’ Mina The Hollower, its visual presentation alone has generated interest.

Another notable indie title is Aegis Force: The Scorian War, a tactical RPG that employs a 2.5D HD-2D art style. Inspired by classics such as Shining Force II and Fire Emblem, the game is set in a fantasy world where technology and magic are in conflict. Its unique aesthetic and genre blend have piqued the interest of genre enthusiasts.
