CD Projekt Red has announced a significant partnership with Blizzard Entertainment, which includes the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered on Blizzard's PC platform, Battle.net, and a Geralt of Rivia-inspired cosmetic for Diablo 4. This collaboration marks a reunion for the two companies, harkening back to 1998 when CD Projekt Red served as Blizzard Entertainment's distributor in Poland.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is scheduled to launch on Battle.net on September 29, 2026, alongside its release on other platforms. Players who already own The Witcher 3 will receive the remaster for free, offering a chance to revisit the acclaimed RPG or experience it for the first time. Preorders for the game are now available.
CD Projekt Red's community and social media manager stated that this partnership is "just the beginning." A key element of the collaboration is a new skin for Diablo 4, designed to resemble Geralt of Rivia. This skin will be granted to players who preorder the upcoming expansion pack for The Witcher 3, "Songs of the Past," on Battle.net. While the exact release date for "Songs of the Past" is set for 2027, the Diablo 4 skin will become available when preorders go live. Importantly, the skin will not be a limited-time pre-order bonus and will remain accessible to anyone who purchases the expansion after its release.
The first look at the Geralt-inspired skin in Diablo 4 is slated for reveal at BlizzCon 2026, which will take place from September 12-13 in Anaheim, California. Further details and visual representations are expected to be shared around that event. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will be available on Steam, GOG.com, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and the Nintendo Switch 2, in addition to Battle.net.
This partnership represents a significant convergence of two major gaming franchises, with CD Projekt Red's iconic monster hunter crossing over into Blizzard's dark fantasy universe, and in turn, Blizzard's presence expanding within CD Projekt Red's ecosystem.
