Fans of The X-Files can soon build their own paranormal investigations with a new Lego Ideas set scheduled for release this August. The set recreates Agent Mulder's iconic office, complete with the "I Want to Believe" poster, and a forest alien abduction scene.
The Lego Ideas The X-Files set (21369) includes minifigures of Agent Fox Mulder, Agent Dana Scully, Assistant Director Walter Skinner, the Cigarette Smoking Man (referred to as Carl Busch in the set), Mr. X, Alex Krycek, The Flukeman, and a grey alien. This product originates from the Lego Ideas program, where fan designs can be voted on for potential production. The set was designed by Brent "WetWired" Waller, who was inspired by his childhood obsession with the series.
"I wanted to combine nostalgia, detail and storytelling to capture the atmosphere of the show — from Mulder’s office to the forest and UFO encounter," Waller stated in a press release. "I’m thrilled to see it become an official Lego set and hope it resonates with both long-time fans and new audiences."
The 1,478-piece set will be available to Lego.com Insiders starting August 1, with a wider release on August 4. It is priced at $199.99 USD, £179.99, or €199.99.
In addition to the main set, Lego is offering a brick-built version of Scully's laboratory as a gift-with-purchase. The X-Files: Scully's Lab set (40896) is available from August 1-10, 2026, with the purchase of the main X-Files set from Lego.com or a Lego store, while supplies last. This bonus set allows for the recreation of the FBI National Academy classroom lab and includes a minifigure of Dana Scully in her lab coat.
Actress Gillian Anderson, who portrayed Scully, commented on the set, noting its detailed accuracy. "The level of detail is brilliant — there are so many little nods that fans will absolutely recognise — and as a Lego fan myself, I love that people can now quite literally build their own X-Files moments at home," she said. The set is recommended for ages 18 and up.
