Ubisoft has abandoned plans to tease a new in-game reward for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced after a player discovered it purely by chance. The chest, containing the Explorer Outfit for Edward Kenway, was found by a player who noticed unusual bubbles on the ocean's surface while undertaking a naval contract.
The discovery was made by Reddit user -Holliday, who described spotting the air bubbles after dropping anchor in an unspecified location. Upon diving, they found the chest with the outfit, which players believed had been omitted from the remake. -Holliday stated that while they had been exploring at their own pace, the find was a matter of pure luck, attributing their interest to the area's appearance on the in-game map.
Ubisoft acknowledged the unexpected discovery with good humor via the official Assassin's Creed social media account on Twitter/X, stating that the clue for the community chest was intended for release on Friday. The company congratulated the player for their impressive treasure-hunting skills.
For players looking to obtain the Explorer Outfit, the chest is located at coordinates 28 x 292. Additionally, another reward consisting of a rapier and figurehead has been located at coordinates 500 x 168.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced was reviewed by IGN, which rated the game 9/10 and described it as an experience that "brings what was already one of the best games in the series up to today’s standards."
