Nintendo is bringing two unreleased Virtual Boy titles, D-Hopper and Zero Racers, to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass on August 4. These games were originally slated for release in 1996 but never saw the light of day due to the Virtual Boy's discontinuation.
D-Hopper, initially known as Dragon Hopper, is a fantasy action-adventure game where players assume the role of a prince battling an oppressive regime to rescue his loved ones, fairies, and elemental spirits. Zero Racers is a racing game developed with inspiration from the Super Nintendo's F-Zero.
In addition to these new additions, Nintendo has also expanded the Virtual Boy lineup on Nintendo Music. Players can now listen to tracks from Virtual Boy Wario Land, Mario Clash, Galactic Pinball, Teleroboxer, and Mario's Tennis. This move follows Nintendo's September 2025 decision to add support for select Virtual Boy titles on Nintendo Switch Online, which included the release of replica Virtual Boy hardware. Furthermore, Super Mario Sunshine, a notable GameCube title, is scheduled to arrive on Nintendo Switch Online on August 13.
