Toby Longworth, a prominent voice in Warhammer 40,000's audio productions and a prolific narrator of Black Library novels, has shared his favorite character to portray. Longworth, known for his work on Dan Abnett's popular series like Eisenhorn and Gaunt's Ghosts, as well as narrating numerous Horus Heresy novels, is now lending his voice to various Space Marines in the upcoming Dawn of War 4.

When asked about his preferred character to play, Longworth expressed a fondness for Nathaniel Garro, a character from the early Horus Heresy era. "Garro was always my favorite character, but that was very early on and Garro has a bit of a following," Longworth explained. He cited Garro's voice as having a "wonderful rolling quality that allows you to do it really smoothly."

While Eisenhorn was also described as "great fun," Longworth ultimately leans towards Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt from the Gaunt's Ghosts series for his extended narrative arc. "Being able to stick with a person that long, that's the most fun," he stated. "So I'd say of all of them, I think I'm going to go for Gaunt, just because I think Gaunt's had the most amount of opportunities for me to get it right." The Gaunt's Ghosts series spans 15 novels, offering a substantial journey for the character and, by extension, for Longworth to explore. The series is often recommended as a starting point for those interested in the Black Library, drawing parallels to Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe novels but set within the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Longworth's involvement in Dawn of War 4, where he voices multiple Space Marines, highlights his deep connection to the Warhammer 40,000 franchise. Further insights from his interview with Alex Jordan regarding Dawn of War 4 are expected to be released on the PC Gamer YouTube channel.
